So much in store for this week

I'm hoping this week will be my best yet! I'll be selling adorable mini notepads, magnets and hopefully adding some new extremely amazing designs. These designs have a kitchen/cooking theme and maybe even some ROBOTS!

Today's featured seller

Lauren is a great photographer, but we all know that no matter how great your work is on Etsy, it's just pretty hard to sell! Anyway, she got a little discouraged and removed her photographs, which I found upsetting, because she's very talented. She has replaced them with Ipod and Iphone cozies, which are cute and look well-made. She will be adding a larger variety of items to her shop very soon. I know she's going to start selling photographs again too. She currently has no sales, which is sad, because she's trying very hard. Please take a moment to look at her shop:

Another dinosaur bookmark!

Who doesn't love dinosaurs? I really want one. Anyway, I added a new dinosaur bookmark to the shop! I added the macro image, so that you could see the accurate color of the ribbon. I tried to capture the color many different ways, but this was the only way that worked! I have no idea why that color has a hard time photographing; I couldn't even capture it with the scanner.

What's new

During the last two days, I have posted five photo bookmarks and 6 ribbon bookmarks. I think these are my best creations yet. The photo bookmarks are definitely my favorite. Here's a peek at both:

In addition, I have also introduced laminated Lunchbox notes. Let your child know you care during the school day. Marker included:

It's time for a giveaway!

To celebrate the opening of my shop, I'm having a giveaway! All you have to do to win is to go to Art You Dream About and let me know here in the comments which item is your favorite! This contest ends April 3 at 11:59 PM.
You will earn bonus entries for the following:
1 bonus entry: Tell your friends on Twitter about this contest and include a link to your page here in the comments.
1 bonus entry: Make a blog entry about this contest and include a link here to that blog.
5 bonus entries: Make a purchase from my shop.

For each bonus entry, please leave a comment. So if you tell me what your favorite item is, tell your friends on Twitter, and you make a purchase, then you would leave SEVEN comments, "my favorite item is...""here's my Twitter page...""I bought such and such""I bought...""I bought...""I bought...""I bought..." A winner will be chosen randomly.

Up for grabs are two bookmarks ($10 value). The pink flowers and hearts bookmark will actually have a light blue ribbon. You can let me know later if you would like it to be orange instead. Both bookmarks will be shipped to the winner at my expense. Make sure to leave your email address for me!

The crystal ball

This is a glimpse into the future. This future may be a week away. Any guesses for how they will be used?

Journals

I've come up with two ways to bind journals and want to know which you would like the best. Journals will be 5"X7" with 75 sheets of paper. The first binding method is with 2 rings, which would be a bit large (3/4" is the smallest I can find) or would you prefer they be bound with visible ribbon? I'm trying to come up with a neutral colored ribbon that will go with everything. Would you like navy?

Bookmarks

I added ribbons to the bookmarks today. I was really excited about that, but now I'm wondering if it's just too much. I think all future bookmarks will not have them. What are your thoughts on this (top hole punched with a ribbon tied through)?

So productive!

I'm so excited. Today I worked on 18 bookmarks and about the same number of journals. I have everything laminated and that step seems to have gone well. The bookmarks look reaaaaally nice. The journals have many more steps before they're completed. Such a long process. They look great so far! I had a lot of fun designing them and had some trouble stopping myself from designing more.

Sorry I have no photos yet. Those will be coming next week. There's a chance you'll get a sneak peak before things get posted on Etsy.

Journals

Today I made four journal covers. All include a photo, a colorful mount board and a colorful mat board. I told you, this shop is about color, not traditional black and white with a splash of color. They look amazing so far, but they still need to be laminated, which is the part that worries me a bit. Each stage is difficult and it's nice once you get past one hurtle, but there are still many more steps.

One journal cover took me over an hour to work on and unfortunately, I'm just not pleased with the result, so it won't be up for sale. I thought it was going to my best, so it's always frustrating when that doesn't work out. Also, my very favorite got bent after I completed it. Remember what I said about hurtles? I'm working on flattening it now. This stuff is fun, but it sure is frustrating!

Excitement is in the air!

I received my paper cutter today and some photos were developed to get me started! If all goes according to plan, I should be up and running next week!
